Resource to monitor Great Plains and Upper Midwest energy transmission lines available

Journalists, lawmakers, landowners and others interested in electric transmission projects in the Great Plains and Upper Midwest can now track the progress of projects in their communities through the Center for Rural Affairs' new Clean Energy Transmission Database.

The database contains information about 20 proposed transmission lines that would transport wind energy to more than 11 states. Many of the highlighted projects are still in planning and development stages, so the map is only a rough approximation. The center says it will update the map as more information becomes available.
