Livestream Nov. 7 conference on preparing rural areas for climate change

The Aspen Institute will hold a forum on helping rural communities prepare for economic and climate change from 2:30-4 p.m. CT on Nov. 7. The actual event will be at the Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center in College Station, Texas, but the event will be livestreamed online.

The event will showcase examples of rural innovation and a wide range of ideas communities can adopt in areas like emergency response to natural disasters, weatherization, improving energy efficiency, and encouraging jobs in renewable energy industries (as well as jobs at companies that run on renewable energy). Patricia Layton, the Director of Clemson University’s Wood Utilization + Design Institute, will moderate the panel. She is also a professor in the university’s Department of Forestry and Natural Resources.
