It's the season for road work, and local governments all over the country are repaving roads and streets. Do we take for granted that they're making the best use of our money? The Hickman County Times of Centerville, Tenn., helped readers decide for themselves by publishing pictures of the roads that county officials had decided to repave. Editor-Publisher Brad Martin added in an email, "I thought it was a good space filler, and has helped get my new reporter further acclimated with where things are here." He put a color photo at the bottom of the front page to lead readers to the photos and story inside.
