This week Tony Pipa from Reimagine Rural and Brent Orrell of the American Enterprise Institute kicked off their new "on the front porch" conversations with authors of recent books on rural America.
The first discussion was with Nick Jacobs of Colby College, whose recent book with Dan Shea, The Rural Voter: The Politics of Place and the Disuniting of America, uses comprehensive data to examine how the deep sense of civic pride among rural citizens collides with increasingly nationalized policy and political concerns.
