Study: nurse practitioners play key role in opioid addiction treatment in very rural areas
Giving nurse practitioners the authority to prescribe buprenorphine has brought that gold standard treatment for opioid addiction to people who might not have had access to it before in very rural areas, according to a new study by researchers at Washington State University's College of Nursing.
