The challenge will begin three hours later, at 6 p.m. July 7, and end at dusk July 8. Judging will begin immediately at the Boyd's Station Gallery in the couty seat of Cynthiana, with winners announced that evening. The awards for photo essays will be $400 for first, $200 for second and $50 for third. The best single image will win $100. The awards are sponsored by Think Tank Photo.
On Sunday, July 9, at noon, a lighting workshop will be presented by Nick Henry of Roberts Camera at the Boyd's Station Gallery. At 2 p.m., New York Times staff photographer and two-time Pulitzer honoree Stephen Crowley will give a talk.
Students competing in the Dusk to Dusk 24-Hour Student Photojournalism Challenge must be students in high school or college, or college graduates in the past two years. For more information contact Jack Gruber at jack@boydsstation.org.
