The Community Farm Alliance of Kentucky is hosting a day-long workshop to discuss food systems in the Eastern third of the state. Farmers, consumers, educators, extension agents and others are welcome to join in regional networking and discussions about the topic at the Eastern Kentucky Food Systems Collaborative event.
"The focus of the day will be around continuing discussions of how to take action and move the vision of a robust, regional food system in Eastern Kentucky into a reality," a press release says. Agriculture Commissioner James Comer will speak, and an afternoon panel discussion will focus on local food success in Eastern Kentucky communities.
The event will be held Thursday, Jan. 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Woodland Center at Natural Bridge State Resort Park at Slade. Registration is $8 in advance, $11.50 at the door. For more information or to RSVP, contact alexa@cfaky.org.
