Schools in the Midwest are encouraged to promote healthy eating and support local businesses during the Midwest Apple Crunch. The event, part of National Farm-to-School Month, is scheduled for noon local time Oct. 13 in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma and South Dakota.
