The Agriculture Department will hold its 97th annual Agricultural Outlook Forum as a virtual conference Feb. 18-19, with a short pre-conference session Feb. 17. Registration is free but required.
The program will begin with a presentation by USDA’s new chief economist, Seth Meyer, on predictions for U.S. commodity markets and trade for 2021 and the U.S. farm income situation. A keynote address by Agriculture Secretary-designate Tom Vilsack, presentations by congressional leaders, and a session on genetic literacy are also scheduled for the morning of Feb. 18.The program will cover five key areas: supply chain resilience, commodity market outlooks; food price and farm income outlooks; U.S. trade and the global market place; risk management and sustainability; and innovation, technology and productivity.
