For journalists covering low-income Americans and their communities, Carolyn Crist at the Grady College of Journalism at the University of Georgia curates poverty reporting sources in a weekly newsletter, "Covering Poverty: A Toolkit for Journalists."

This week, the newsletter features seven recent developments, including an article in The New York Times that addresses how President Trump's proposed budget cuts would affect Medicaid and anti-poverty efforts. Another featured article is a Pew Research piece on the digital gap between rural and urban dwellers. Crist also included a Gallup Organization report that shows Americans still see manufacturing as crucial to job creation.
