The third Annual Appalachian Food Summit will be held from Sept. 16-17 at Berea College in Berea, Ky. Opening night features readings, conversation and a soup beans and cornbread dinner, followed the next night by a feast cooked up by some of Appalachian's finest chefs. This year's event is designed to honor some of the underrepresented stories of the region, as well as focusing on the future of Appalachia, such as ideas for expanding craft beer and tourism. Day tickets are $25. Dinner tickets are $40. For more information or to register for the event click here. (Some of the good food at a previous summit)
